Money Making Guide — Meso Farming & Economy

By MSCWHub Team··10 min read

The best meso farming methods for every level range, plus Free Market trading, crafting profits, and expense management.

The Golden Rule: Profit ≠ Income

A map giving lots of meso drops isn't automatically profitable. What matters is what remains AFTER expenses.

Profit = Mesos earned − Potions, travel, equipment, and other costs

Two players farming the same monsters can leave with very different profits because one spends far more on HP/MP recovery.

Early Game (Lv 1-30)

Efficient Progression = Best Meso Strategy

• Don't stop leveling to farm one monster — make money WHILE progressing

• Grind monsters you can kill efficiently (fast kills + low damage taken)

• Stack quests on the same maps before grinding

• Pick up ALL drops — equipment, ores, ETC items, scrolls

Key Money Quests

Jane and the Mushroom:(Lv 20): 585 mesos + random Intermediate weapon scroll (can be worth far more!)

Shumi's Lost Sack:(Lv 35): 10,000 mesos + 30 Mana Elixirs + 3 Fame

Potion Efficiency

| Item | HP per Meso |

|------|-------------|

| Red Potion | 2 HP/meso |

| Fried Chicken | 2 HP/meso |

| Meat | 2 HP/meso |

| Orange | 1 MP/meso |

| Lemon | 1 MP/meso |

Mid Game (Lv 30-60)

Sell to Players, Not NPCs

These items are worth FAR more than their NPC sell price:

Attack/Magic Attack Scrolls:— NPC price is 1 meso, player value is thousands!

Throwing Stars:— Essential for Assassins

Crafting Catalysts:— Needed by crafters

Ores & Refined Materials:— Crafting demand

Rare Weapons:— Class-specific demand

Good Equipment Rolls:— Better clean stats = higher price

Boss Farming

Mushmom:(Lv 40): Can drop Ilbi Throwing-Stars, but 1-1.5hr respawn makes it inconsistent

• Don't build your economy around bosses — treat rare drops as bonuses

Forgotten Hollow Drops

• New monsters drop unique materials used in crafting

• Fragment of Magic appears in 24 Arcforge recipes despite only 10-meso NPC value

• Processed Leather is used in many recipes — don't vendor it!

The Free Market

Classic World uses a traditional Free Market (not modern Auction House) with 11 market rooms.

Trading Rules

1. NPC price ≠ Player value — Always check FM prices before selling

2. Don't start with merching — Learn the market using items you obtain yourself first

3. Focus on high-value items — Don't list every cheap ETC drop

Crafting as Income

Out of 348 recipes, only ~16 are profit-positive by NPC values alone. But the real player market changes everything.

Profitable Crafting Strategies

Alchemy:Easiest to profit from refining ores

Carpentry:Best for low-cost EXP leveling

• Craft primarily when: you need the item, there's real player demand, or you're leveling the profession

• Don't mass-craft expensive gear just because the recipe exists

Reduce Expenses

1. Use efficient potions — Stick to 2 HP/meso items

2. Skip unnecessary upgrades — Will this noticeably improve kill speed?

3. Citizenship discounts — Unlock at Lv 12 for shop/storage cost reductions (5% at Traveler, up to 50% at Citizen of Honor)

4. Soul Arrow (Bowman) — Saves arrow/bolt costs entirely

Beginner Routine

1. Accept quests before training — overlap objectives

2. Pick up all drops — evaluate before vendoring

3. Keep progression materials — don't sell today what you'll need tomorrow

4. NPC obvious surplus — weak gear and unnecessary ETC

5. Price-check unusual drops — especially scrolls, stars, catalysts

6. Control expenses — potions and unnecessary upgrades eat profits

7. Learn the Free Market gradually — don't risk your bankroll early
